My Story

A few years ago if you said to 36kg heavier me I'd be running a marathon, let alone the London Marathon, I'd have just laughed at you.

But here we are. And even better I'm running my first ever marathon for a cause that's so close to my heart.

Aspens, a charity that provides support and care for folks on the autism spectrum or have learning disabilities, runs the home for my cousin Sarah where she receives amazing round the clock care by a wonderful team.

Last year Sarah, and her sister Anna, lost their dad Nic - one of the kindest and smartest humans you could ever meet. Uncle Nic was not only a board member of Aspens, but he was also marathon runner.

I'm not sure Uncle Nic would believe I'm running the London Marathon for Aspens. It's kind of like he's made it happen - Aspens has a silver place for the marathon and only get a place every 5 years! And this is the year that I finally felt ready to go for it!

Please do donate all you can so we can support the amazing work that Aspens does to support those that need it. Sarah has been living with them for over 15 years and thanks to their support and care has thrived. She continues to be the centre of all the goings on at her home and makes sure we're all bossed about!
